FAQ
Answers to Your Questions
Our cat boarding and dog boarding FAQ will answer many of your questions about your pet’s visit to our pet boarding kennel…
What vaccines are required?
For dogs over six months we require current rabies, distemper (dhlpp), bordetella vaccines, and Canine Influenza (CIV H3N2 & H3N8). For dogs under six months of age, they must have a minimum of two dhlpp, Canine Influenza (CIV H3N2 & H3N8) and Bordetella. Cats over six months must have current rabies and distemper (FVRCP). For kittens under six months, a minimum of two FVRCPs is required. For both dog’s and cat’s, written documentation from a Veterinarian showing vaccines is required.
Do you offer exercise or play time?
Yes. Dogs go to the exercise yard twice per day, which is included with the regular boarding package. On leash walks are also available for a fee, see our prices. For cats, we will let them out in their room and entertain them with toys and holding them, or letting them explore on their own depending on their personalities. Our prices for that are included on our price page.
Do you offer bathing?
Yes, at your request your dog will be bathed. Normally on the day they are scheduled to go home. The bath includes clipping their nails, cleaning their ears, and trimming the hair around their feet. We will also flea dip for an additional fee. If your dog is not being boarded an appointment may be made for baths. For this, you must drop the dog off between 7 AM and 9 AM.
When are you open?
We are open from 7AM to 6 PM Monday thru Saturday, and 10am to 6pm on Sundays. You can drop off your pets anytime during these hours. The charges are based on a calendar day. The day you drop off your pet counts as the first day of boarding. Checkout time is 10AM with a 2-hour leeway until noon. If you pick your pet after 12 PM, you will be charged for that day’s board. Also see our Holiday Closures.
Do I need to make a reservation?
Yes, you do! We often are full anywhere from six weeks to two months ahead of time in the summer and holidays. So to ensure that your pet has a space reservations are required.
Can I bring my own pet’s food?
We feed our boarding dogs only premium pet food, but understand that some pets require a special diet. You can supply your own food if it’s pre-bagged in individual bags for each meal, plus one or two extras in case of later pick up.
We are happy to feed your food or ours. If you bring your food from home please package it in individual bags per meal or in one bag per day. Do not provide the food in original, large bags. We also have refrigerators, freezers and microwaves if needed.
Do you give medications?
Yes, if the owners supply them. The charge for administering any medication is $1.00 per dose for dogs and $1.00 per dose for cats. For example, if your pet needs medications in the AM & in the PM the charges would be $2.00 for a dog or $2.00 for a cat. We cannot board any pet that is contagious or has been exposed to any contagious diseases in the last 30 days.
What if my pet gets ill or injured?
We will assess the situation and make every effort to contact you or your emergency contacts. We will then contact your pet’s veterinarian and decide if the pet needs to be taken to your vet or not. We will take your pet to your vet if possible, if not your pet will need to go to one of the emergency clinics. You are responsible for any veterinarian charges.
